The Music :
The title of this music Video is 'Fever Fairytale', Its not easy listening, from the title itself,it sounds surreal and absurd. The lyric itself contains lots of metaphors and implicit meanings into it, so it leaves the audience to decide what this song trying to say. For me personally, I feel this song talking about state of mind, subconscious self that exist in every person,
This girls addiction of daydreaming,..which is in certain level, its not good. She knows that its bad, cause it kinda distant her from the reality, but she just cant help it...she loves it
It's more like a love/hate relationships between her and her dreams/utopia states
Theme :
'Split personality' is the theme for this Music Video, It begins as a story of two womans that goes simultaneously, it goes back and forth between those stories until the very end, they met and they are actually one person.
Both woman represents both personality, The other woman scene will be shot indoor, while the other woman will be shot outdoor. And I want to juxtaposing both stories, by the characters itself, its tones, its shot & contrast them, but somehow has elements that connected to each other.
The first woman who being the 'real' personality, is innocent, powerless and fragile. She represents the realm of dark reality. Her make-up, costume, and set will be the metaphor of her state of mind and surroundings. While the second woman will be the 'alter ego' , she is mysterious, enchanted and full of ambiguity. She is the femme-fatale of the 'white' noir, she's the white rabbit of the fairytale wonderland. In the music video, we see her run/ walking like a soul losing his body. she's been thrown away by her 'alter-ego', because she knows that she has over-manipulated their whole personality. But what is soul without the body, they should evolve..in balance, giving enough space for each other to grow. And that should be the ending of this music video.
Character :
Japanese woman chosen as the character, because based on my readings, the survey said Japanese people have the most pshycological issues tendency compared to any other culture and ethnic. And because this music again distress on, more or less, pshycological states. I guess the Japanese woman would be the best subject on getting the message across.
Tones :
Slightly different tones were used for each character. The surreal, vibrant colors, but pale and a bit washed at the same time, so it would look not real, but still not too cartoony or playful
